Getting Started in Racing
We currently have Epping O35 riders racing in various British Cycling sanctioned categories and clubs around the home counties; here's how it works:
CAT 4 Racing: Turn up at the race, pay your money for a provisional day licence or buy a licence from the British Cycling website- £68 & start racing.
CAT 3 Racing: Earn 10 points in CAT 4 racing (10 points for a 1st, 9 points for a 2nd and so on) to achieve your CAT 3 licence.
CAT 2 Racing: Earn 30 points in each CAT 3 season to attain or maintain your CAT 2 licence.
CAT 1 & Elite Racing: Speak to your manager/trainer/sponsor!!!
There are lots of opportunities for getting started in racing in the London area and several of our members are currently racing CAT 4- CAT 2 road and MTB, so if you're interested post up on the forum and we'll help you get racing!

Yes, that’s right, racing. Just being over 35 doesn’t make us bad people. There are many members of the group that like to try and ride fast against others with similar mind sets. Those that don’t race often come along a shout abuse at the riders. Some even take a few photos.
So when have we raced, against who and when. Where do I start.
Beastway.
For the last 5 years many members have given this midweek summer series a shot. Read more here about the Beast. We did well. Steve, Fiona, Wendy, Miles, Sze, FBC, Craig, Nick, Dave, plus loads of others have joined in. We even got some medals and prize money. Check final results here

Thetford 12 hour night enduro - Dusk till Dawn.
Ok, we are over 35, over the hill. But sometimes we win. 12 hour race through the night. The girls team did OK, considering they raced for a joke.
1st Salsa factory racing team

Sid raced solo for the 12 hours during the night and the mens team was made up of Miles, JC, Omar and Paul.
