A positively balmy morning, for the tow path ride, greeted Rob,
Graham, Howard, Jane and myself as we headed south in the sunshine to
pick up Gentle John and Elliott at John’s bench before continuing on
to Springfield Marina for a quick stop for people to strip off some
clothes.

Over the bridge and across Walthamstow Marshes to pick up the nice new
‘expensive’ looking cycle path across the first part of Hackney
Marshes.

Back over the river to head west past Victoria Park before heading
south again at the Regents Canal and on down to the Thames at
Limehouse. West along the river and a stop for the obligatory photo in
front of Canary Wharf. At the Rotherhithe Tunnel ventilation shaft we
met a huge group of Crest CC riders going in the opposite direction,
impressive number of uniformed bikers.

On to the Captain Kidd for a well earned cheesy grin lunch.

Returning over the same route to the river Lea before a side trip to
the Olympic park for another cheesy grin coffee and cake stop at the
view point café.

Back to Ponders End before heading up to the SH to meet up with the
mud spattered Rads.

Great to see MJ and brother Barry both on good form! A visit also from
Lynn and baby Madison, the smallest, youngest, and best looking member
(sorry Pat) of MBRover35 and first to get barred from the SH.

Great day, great ride, great group, great evening with a great bunch.
