An elite few of us meet at Swinley Forest on Monday 27, together with a
local guide. Even though there was some confusion as to the ride being
cancelled.
The conditions were excellent and the paths were mainly dry and relatively
snow free, some of the bridal paths were icy but we only used them to get
between sections of single track. So it did not affect the ride.
We covered all the classic sections including the cork screw, labyrinth, the
wall, the gorrick track, deer stalker, tank traps and a number of other
sections I can’t remember the names of.
The snow was relatively clear on most of the single track so it was not too
bad.
But it adds to the fun of the ride. And was definitely better than Epping mud
As there was no good pubs in close proximity we had the debrief over a tea
and bacon roll.
Next time I must remember not to take the 29er as it was a bit too long for
the tight twisty single track.
Big thanks to Andy for guiding us around.
